POP is looking for a Web Analytics Engineer for a 2 to 6 month contract opportunity. This position is part-time on/off site. The Web Analytics Engineer will partner with all POP teams seeking to flawlessly help define, deliver, and track inspirational technology experiences by owning project business reporting technical requirements. 

The Web Analytics Engineer (WAE) is a leadership role within POP Technology. Working with POPs Experience Strategy team during a projects Discovery Phase, the WAE takes the lead on defining and documenting a projects business reporting requirements and takes a supporting role for the definition of key performance indicators (KPIs).

During the Development and Deployment Phases of projects, the WAE is also responsible for designing the solution architecture that will achieve the business reporting requirements and supporting and confirming its implementation by working across a variety of POP Development Teams (ie, Software, Mobile, and Interactive Dev).

The WAE is sometimes client facing, may be required to manage a Business Analytics Specialist, and is required to be a subject matter expert on multiple Web Analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Omniture, and the like). This position reports to the Sr. Director of Technology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Knowledge expert on Omniture and Google Analytics
Advanced knowledge of Webtrends and other Web Analytics platforms
Act as technical analytics resource to define and document business reporting requirements within the project specification
Use business process analysis skills and the ability to facilitate a discussion to clarify business reporting objectives

– Bachelor’s degree in a field that emphasizes quantitative methods (math, statistics, economics, computer science, etc.) or equivalent in web analytics.

– At least 7 years of work experience in web analytics discipline, preferably with Omniture expertise.

– Thorough knowledge, understanding and experience with web analytics best practices and techniques (i.e., A/B and multivariate testing, segmentation, conversions, etc.), web metrics, data tagging, Web 2.0 platforms, site measurement tools and running reports using SQL.

– Experience in deploying ClickStream analysis tools and strong proficiency in Omniture modules (i.e., Site Catalyst, Search Center, Discover, Genesis, and Test & Target).

– Exceptionally strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.

– Highly proficient computer skills (including Excel, PowerPoint); SAS skills preferred as provides the ability to merge web analytic data with additional behavior data to have a robust view of the customer.

– Passion for the online marketing space with a solid understanding of interactive marketing channels (search, online media, website development, etc.) and direct marketing principles.

– Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal and influencing skills (at all levels internally, externally and cross-functionally).

– Demonstrated leadership skills and prior experience in managing web analytic team.

Dailymakeover is looking to add a Digital Marketing Analyst to our team. You will the go-to person in the company for data and analysis, and responsible for turning data into actionable recommendations. As a key part of a small dynamic team you will have the opportunity to make, and see implemented, your recommendations for driving more traffic, keep users happy and improve the overall performance of our websites and products.

You will provide strategic business insight to all other functions based on analysis of data from various online analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Strongmail Message Studio, and other sources to optimize online content, email marketing, direct marketing and customer experiences. You will work closely with our editorial team to help them understand our users.
While some data ‘reporting’ and publishing of regular reports will be necessary, you will use your experience with Excel and the Google Analytics API (as well our our team of talented programmers) to minimize the time you spend pulling numbers and maximize the time you spend doing actual analysis.

Responsibilities:
– Work with VP of Strategic Development to create and evangelize dashboards to assist in decision-making. This process will include defining and documenting standardized metrics.
– Prepare regular reports to support email marketing, digital marketing, digital publishing and ecommerce efforts and company, site and user metrics.
– Measure site usability and effectiveness while turning data into actionable recommendations.
– Assist the Marketing/Licensing Managers and VP of Strategic Development in translating functional requirements to the technical specifications.
– Leverage applications such as Google Analytics, Doubleclick, Strongmail, Rubicon, etc. to provide reports on various business areas.
– Identify areas of operational improvement, either in ecommerce, sales conversion, site design, or marketing, based on input from managers and by analyzing data from various sources.
– Identify tracking issues for large amount of licensing sites in a timely manner and provide reports in a regular basis.
– Maintain active email mailing list and related supporting tasks.
– Assist in automation efforts as needed for executive and senior-level reporting.
– Build strong cross-functional relationships with business units.

Qualifications:
– Strong analytical skills
– Curiosity and a desire to understand the ‘why’ and not just the ‘what’ of data
– Excellent at Excel and/or experience with programming and scripting languages such as Javascript, HTML, Java, Python
– BA/BS in quantitative coursework (eg mathematics, statistics, Comp Sci, Engineering)
– Minimum 1 years of web analytics experience, including web metrics experience, experience implementing Google Analytics or similar tools for web analytics tracking.
– Understanding of business process analysis, system analysis and data analysis.
– Hands-on experience with business intelligence software (e.g. SQL Server, Charles, HttpWatch, Firebug, etc.), and current knowledge of trends and applications in the industry a plus
– Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, including verbal, written, listening and presentation.
– Strong process flow and diagramming skills.
