Senior Analyst, Web Reporting and Web Analytics at TXU Energy (Irving, Texas)

The Sr. Analyst, Reporting and Analytics provides operational and financial insight to management by analyzing trends in sales, gains and losses, and by focusing on enrollment process and system performance optimization. The team is also responsible for providing web analytics support for both the online sales and service channels. It is a fast-growth, constantly evolving business that requires effective and efficient management. The dynamic conditions associated with the deregulated Texas electricity market require a flexible marketing platform and a cutting edge marketing analytics and finance function to maintain sustainable competitive advantages.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Provide on-going analytical support related to web marketing and functionality: Provide weekly and / or monthly reporting on KPI measures for the web channels. Utilize tools such as Tealeaf and Webtrends to pull necessary data for analysis and reporting.
Provide on-going analytical support related to partner payments: act as liaison between the team and campaign / channel management making sure vendor payments are correctly represented in the campaign planning process and that payments are made in compliance with current contracts. Assist in the structuring of future vendor contracts that ensures optimum channel sales performance. Utilize tools such as SAS and SQL to pull necessary data.
Provide on-going analytical support related to current call center and channel fallout reporting. Focus on enrollment and system performance optimization by analyzing and documenting current processes. Develop and implement additional controls, as necessary.
Analyze financial impact of system and/or process issues discovered and develop financially justifiable recommendations for process improvements.
Provide deeper operational and financial insight by uncovering root causes for trends in sales, gains and losses by channel, type, and over time. Develop, summarize, and communicate key findings to management.
Perform essential proactive and ad-hoc analysis as required for the residential markets.
Support all of the above by performing sensitivity analyses for key assumptions and market scenarios, as necessary.
Develop executive level reporting and presentations accordingly.
Maintain current and accurate process and methodology documentation.
Manage and appropriately prioritize multiple overlapping projects.
Actively participate in cross-functional team activities, providing expertise on data types / sources, offering original perspectives, and challenging conventional views.
Maintain and expand knowledge of current and evolving database development methodologies and techniques, including CARE, CRM, BI, MCAD, SAS, and external sources.
Job Qualifications:
Education/Experience
Bachelor (with significant experience) or Masters in business, engineering, finance, accounting, economics, statistics or other quantitative field from a Top Tier Program
5+ years in a consulting and/or market/financial analysis role
Excellent business, financial and analytical acumen
Web marketing and analytics experience with strong technical working knowledge of web analytics tools such as Tealeaf and Webtrends
Advanced skills in extracting and analyzing data using SAS / SQL, macros, pivot tables, statistical functions and other large data analysis tools
Very strong Microsoft Excel analysis and modeling skills
Strong analytical skills with a working knowledge of statistics
Prior experience with SAP and extracting data from SAP BW desirable
Working knowledge of key financial, accounting and business metrics (e.g. NPV, PV/I, DCF) desirable
Experience in a customer-focused role and building relationships with key internal customers
Excellent inter-personal and communication skills
Strong team player
Energy industry experience within a competitive/deregulated market is a plus
